My suit works explore identity through absence—portraits without faces, figures without a defined age, race, or gender. The suits—sometimes formal with ties, other times relaxed with open collars or undone bow ties—suggest masculinity, but resist specific narratives. By removing the face, I shift the emotional focus to posture, gesture, and colour.
 
Sometimes the figure is standing tall; other times, they’re seated on a leather couch, holding a glass of wine or scotch. These subtle moments—shirt unbuttoned, tie loosened—evoke a sense of ease, the quiet exhale after a hard day’s work. That stillness and vulnerability adds a different kind of strength—one rooted in reflection and presence.
 
Each painting invites the viewer into a personal, internal space. These suited figures become vessels—mirrors—evoking memory, aspiration, or emotion. Whether it’s a flicker of nostalgia, a reminder of someone known, or a feeling just out of reach, I want the work to take you somewhere.
