If you look closely, there’s a snake hiding in the background — that’s Struan’s fear — and a bumblebee on the hat, my own little fear. The letters O T B (for Only the Brave) are painted to look like patches, adding a playful little detail.
 
We start by chatting about colour and placement. I paint the hat first, getting structure and tone down, then Struan jumps in with his bold lettering. I go back in to refine, then Struan finishes it off, making sure everything sits together just right.
 
It’s all about balance — control and disruption, realism and intervention — two styles coming together on one surface.
